Ethics
Introduction
  • We do business as a member of the logistics community, accepting a responsibility to our stakeholders: employees, clients, communities and our profession.

  • We determine what is ethical by what serves these groups; what contributes to their needs, health, safety, welfare, vitality and long-term success.

  • We define ethical as that which is honest, trustworthy, quality, competent, effective and in compliance.

  • This code of ethics directs INDITRANS and its employees and representatives in the standards of their day-to-day conduct and decision making.

  • This ethics code is intended to express our fundamental values and principles and to work in concert with all parts of our INDITRANS Code.

  • The Code complements and does not substitute or supersede obligations set forth by the INDITRANS certifying and accrediting agencies, good industry practice, federal and state law and all applicable regulations.

  • The Code is meant to build trust and strong relationships between INDITRANS and its employees and their co-workers, clients, stakeholders, contractors, vendors, investors, governing and regulatory agencies, and industry peers as a foundation for business.

Good Practice

  • INDITRANS, its employees and representatives commit to constant evaluation of process and outcome in order to surpass industry standards.

  • INDITRANS, its employees and representatives make known all material facts in and abide by both written and verbal representations, remembering that misrepresentation results from ignorance and by omitting or obscuring relevant facts. For accuracy, all records are subject to checks.

  • INDITRANS, its employees and representatives live inclusive business practices and human rights of all; we are committed to creating a work culture free of discrimination of any identity, especially those defined and protected by federal law: race, color, religion, sex, age, marital status, national origin, sexual orientation, expression and disability. Discrimination, harassment, the use of discriminatory slurs, sex advances or harassment and anything that fosters an offensive or hostile work environment is not tolerated.

  • INDITRANS, its employees and representatives present professionally and respectfully: listening, giving consideration in advance to others' comfort, culture and ideas.

  • INDITRANS, its employees and representatives believe in free market and healthy, fair competition and thusly will not act against or to harm business, competition or the business of cients, industry peers or any of our stakeholders.

  • In the spirit of fair competition, INDITRANS, its employees and representatives do not engage in, offer, provide or accept gift, reward or purchase for business advantage. Any exchange of gift, reward or purchase will be in line with customary business practices, never to exceed $50 or any currency equivalent, never to/with a government employee or entity and never in cash.

  • INDITRANS, its employees and representatives follow implemented safety policies and procedures in order to provide a safe and healthful work environment (OSHA).

  • INDITRANS, its employees and representatives avoid activity or employment which could compromise moral and professional judgment or create a conflict of interest for or with any stakeholder.

  • When there is a real or potential conflict of stakeholder interests and ethical and healthy practices, INDITRANS, its employees and representatives will report to and consult with their supervisor and determine how or whether it is possible to proceed without a conflict of interest.
Code Compliance
  • INDITRANS, its employees and representatives raise awareness of a supervisor with fellow staff and supervisor's when / if they are knowledgeable of or suspect anyone of conduct that does not adhere to the standards of this Code, its values. This includes conduct of vendors, clients, stakeholders, etc.

  • When concern is raised a dialogue will take place between the subject / reporting INDITRANS team member and their supervisor in the same format as routine supervision, about what happened, why it happened and to agree on an action plan which may address and/or change the INDITRANS Code, the team member's actions, the team member's culture fit, etc.

  • Any employee or representative who retaliates against such reporting is subject to immediate review, remedial action and possible termination of employment, contract. Any vendors, clients, stakeholders retaliating against such reporting may be subject to revocation of credit, vendor approval and termination of the business relationship.
Changes & Amendments
  • An INDITRANS team member's immediate resource for any matter related to the Code is their supervisor, then their HR representative.

  • When a situation arises that is not addressed by the Code of Ethics, the Code should be changes or amended to address such a situation.

  • The Code is created by and for the INDITRANS Team. The team will consult with each other and make changes and additions as a team through dialogue before all-staff, staff-only gatherings.
Training
  • To ensure compliance with the Code of Ethics, INDITRANS employees are trained as new hires, through regular dialogue about ethics and in regular and subsequent trainings.

Compliance
Logistics: it's complicated. Our compliance program answers its over-complexity. By operational zing our responsibility to you we commit to be good stewards of this industry and our community. Our program includes our Code of Ethics, training program and privacy policies. It also encompasses certifications, accreditation, licensure and memberships awarded for compliance with federal state and local laws and regulations and for surpassing industry standards

Environmental Promise
As our awareness grows of the rippling, long-term effect we have on our environment, so grows our resolve. We resolve to act with responsibility, being conscious of our spaces and systems, how we are a part of them and the power we have to affect their state of health. We act with intention in each choice to eliminate all harmful effects on our environments. We resolve to act with commitment; to build green structures and build green into our culture, to be willing to re-imagine core systems and operations in order to affect this change and make it sustainable.  And we resolve to act with INDITRANS. Because we know a healthy environment is more than a zero-sum game.

Privacy
The INDITRANS Team follows the information practices outlined below in all the capacities they represent INDITRANS in. If you ever have questions about or a request on how to handle specific information give the INDITRANS Team a call.

  • We collect inofrmation on clients, stakeholders, contractors, vendors, investors and industry peers only as needed in the course of regular business.

  • The information collected is used internally and forwarded to other groups only when required in the course of regular business and otherwise only at the expressed consent of the subject party.

  • We take every precaution to keep information private and confidential including accidental disclosure, using, keeping and storing memos, notebook, computer files, laptops and the like.
  • Limitations and risks of communication are disclosed on e-mail and on our website.

  • Any information obtained mistakenly is treated as sensitive and confidential, subject parties made aware and may be destroyed.
  • INDITRANS does not use any proprietary, confidential or personal infomration to gain business advantage.
